Social Media Intern

We are seeking an unpaid social media intern eager to help shape the future of Purr’s social media presence. Some responsibilities typically include assisting in creating and curating engaging content across various social media platforms, scheduling posts, monitoring social channels for trending news and ideas, conducting social media analytics and reporting, and supporting the overall social media strategy of the organization. The role often involves gaining hands-on experience in digital marketing, community management, and social media management tools.

Note: This job may be used as college credit with the consideration of onboarding as a full-time paid employee in the future should the business needs change. All applicants must be 18 years or older.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Content Creation:
Develop creative and engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Create graphics, videos, and other multimedia content to enhance posts.

Community Management:
Monitor social media channels and respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly and professionally.
Foster positive interactions and engagement with followers and online community.
Campaign Support:
Help track campaign performance metrics and report on results.
Research and Analytics:
Conduct research on social media trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities.
Utilize analytics tools to monitor social media performance and optimize strategies.
Content Calendar Management:
Maintain and update social media content calendars.
Ensure timely scheduling and posting of content across platforms.
Learning and Development:
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging platforms in social media.
Continuously learn and apply new skills to enhance social media effectiveness.

Qualifications:


Current enrollment in a relevant degree program (Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, etc.) preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiar with Canva is a plus.
Creative mindset with an eye for design and visual storytelling.
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn) and their features.
Basic knowledge of social media analytics tools (e.g., Facebook Insights, Google Analytics) is a plus.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
